Please preserve security camera footage of the following location during the following inclusive time period:  Airport Terminal 2, far right hand security line after passengers proceed through the ProVision scanner, June 13, 2019, between 10:20 and 11:00 a.m., depicting passenger described as follows; Caucasian male, middle age, dark hair, wearing tan short pants and grey colored T-shirt, facing conveyor belt during pat-down type body search.  Relevant footage will likely be in the middle of this inclusive time span.  TSA Case #4428992.

The Port has located and preserved the requested video footage.  However, the Port is withholding this footage from disclosure under the PRA because it constitutes Sensitive Security Information protected under federal law.  (Gov. Code § 6254(k); 49 C.F.R., Parts 15 and 1520.)  Moreover, the video depicts activities in the security checkpoint, may identify potential “blind spots” between security cameras, and may document the composition and frequency of security activities, and therefore the public interest in withholding such critical information outweighs the public interest in disclosing it.  (Gov. Code § 6255(a).) The footage will be retained for at least one year.  Thank you.

 

Request for Cure & Correction: We hope this response is satisfactory to you.  If you believe the Port has failed to comply with the Public Records Act, you may submit a written Request for Cure and Correction to the Secretary of the Board.  This Request must be filed within 90 days of the alleged noncompliance.  The Office of the Port Attorney will investigate all Requests and respond within 30 days.  For further information, please refer to the "Frequently Asked Questions" section on the Port's Public Records webpage.
